Situation:
Whenever you receive email with a legitimate attachment, you see the message "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail."

Solution:
This message is generated when a security option in Outlook Express 6.0 is enabled. That option denies access to email attachments that could be malicious. To uncheck the security option in Outlook Express
  • Open Outlook Express 6.0
  • From the menu bar of the Outlook Express window, click Tools > Options
  • In the Options window, on the Security tab, locate the Virus Protection section
  • Uncheck the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" box
  • Click OK
